Under the beautiful chilly sun of southern California, 2015 Formula Drift season is opening at the traditional location of the streets of Long Beach, CA. Formula Drift is always a major motorsport event that has been expanding usual "drifting bro" into multiple cultural slices of a wider audience.

As usual, this is a two days event that provide the first natural selections of 32 drivers in the first day. These 32 winners will enter the main competition in the second day. Once we have much more information about the competition, we will bring it to you!

At the car show expo area, there are always big name brands who bring their umbrella girls for the pro driver autograph sessions as well as Saturday's opening ceremony. As always, Hankook Tires brought in their four top notch models, including Erica Nagashima, Erica Juliet, as well as SarahTop and Madison Taylor. These awesome models in Hankook attires, which are the top notch industry uniforms hands down, made the bright sunny day even brighter! Just across the isle, there were Nitto Tires umbrella girls, with the name of "T", and Julie Mai plus Gina Darling. And it gets more and more glamours with more models at the expo area that we discovered, namely, our two Wheels and Heels Magazine cover model, Arley Elizabeth and Ashley Twomey. Plus the staple model of R1-Concepts, Erica Law and her friend Cristal Aguirre were chilly at the tent, literally.

The driver autograph session is a great opportunity for fans to get to be more personal with their supported pro drivers. The line started long before the session started and each one of the fans can pass through the line of driver tables to collect their signed posters or flyer cards, as well as company supported goodie bags, plus some selfie ops. the fans were happy, the drivers are also excited, because besides the long day of driving and drifting, it's a good time to chill, and meet the people who adore them in very close distance. In one particular case to demonstrate the power of interpersonal connection. The time was during the autograph session, we were at the front of the table of Joon Maeng, Lucas Oil sponsored pro driver. He recognized us and waved at us and asked how we are doing. The sheer power of human level connection, is totally powerful and we felt that we have a special bond with this awesome pro drifter. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish him to be the top champion one day soon!

We also have the highlights of the drifting cars that were used during the qualifying rounds. Some of them obviously have kissed the barricades a few times too much, and some are simply as clean as a whistle. No matter what, underneath all those compact cars, are all highly tuned, monstrously enhanced, and beyond-this-world empowered. It's always a treat to inspect these higher level machines and see how different they are than the car that you will be driving back home. There were definitely some awe-striking moments.

Across from the pit, there were vendor areas that have some showy cars. There were chrome-blue Ferrari, as well as highly artistically painted wraps, and also JDM muscle cars in sight. They are all dazzling in different ways, that marvel the owners' prides and competitiveness.

Overall, day one of the 2015 Formula Drift is geared toward a wonderful start. We will see who will win the Long Beach champion on the 2nd day, and see if the new rules will knock down the past legend and usher in the new faces. It's a great time full of fun, entertainment, motor-sport excitements, and a totally great way to spend the weekend!
